Permanent Makeup Before & Aftercare
Before treatment:
This treatment cannot be done whilst pregnant or when breastfeeding.
Please do not drink any caffeinated drinks or take aspirin/medicine within 24 hours before your procedure.
Botox should be performed 3 weeks prior to or 3 weeks after the procedure
Do not work out the day of the procedure as the body heats up and your pores expand.
Stay away from the sun, no sunbathing or spray tanning for 30 days before the procedure.
If you have large pores or oily/very oily skin, your results will appear softer/solid or powdered looking. Microblading is not recommended for people with oily skin.
If you have high blood pressure, low blood pressure or any heart conditions you have to seek advice from your doctor before we can carry out the procedure safely.
Aftercare instructions:
Aftercare for the skin where microblading took place is similar to tattoo care, if a bit more intensive.
The pigment immediately following the procedure will appear quite dark, and the skin underneath it will be red. After all, needles are used to cut into the skin, so it’s typical to experience some redness and sensitivity immediately following.
About 2 hours after microblading, you should run a cotton swab dipped in sterilized water over the area. This will get rid of any excess dye on your brows. It will also keep the area sterile.
Do not let any water, lotion, soap, or makeup touch your eyebrow area during the first 7 days after your procedure.
Please wash your face carefully around the eyebrow without getting water on the treated area. During the shower, keep your face away from the shower head or take a bath.
Itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days post procedure. Avoid picking or scratching as it can pull off scabs prematurely and cause patchy results or scarring. However, experience has shown that by following these after-care instructions, these symptoms may quickly disappear.
After 4 days, make sure your hands are completely clean and gently apply the post-care ointment with a cotton swab and clean hands. This can be done twice a day, at night time and morning time, but be sure to use the ointment sparingly as your skin needs to heal itself. Please continue to apply the ointment for 7 days.
It takes anywhere from 7 to 14 days for the skin to begin to appear healed and for the pigment to fade to its intended shade.
Follow these steps to take care of your skin after microblading:
Avoid getting the area wet for at least 7 days. This includes keeping your face dry during a shower.
Don’t wear makeup for at least a week. This is because the pigments are still settling into the shallow cuts in your skin caused by the blading.
Don’t pick at scabs, tug, or itch the eyebrow area.
Avoid saunas, swimming, and excessive sweating until the area is completely healed and you have a follow-up appointment.
Keep your hair away from your brow line.
Avoid working out to prevent sweating
Avoid facial massage and facial steaming
Avoid sleeping on the face
Apply any medicated cream or healing balm provided by your technician as directed.
After your skin is fully healed, you’ll want to protect your microblading investment by taking care of your skin. Applying a sunscreen to the microbladed area may help prevent fading.
